In this snooker coaching video we discuss the importance of a good snooker grip.

A snooker grip that is too loose or too tight can cause problems in the delivery of the cue and this short video addresses the importance of how to get a correct snooker grip.

  • I really like this video: It gives me an area to practice on as I seem to be missing a lot of long/powerful shots, and it seems like I may be holding the cue too tightly and even tightening my grip during the follow through, which I never really considered before this video. Cheers!

  • @benhubbs That's great. Really work on that. The grip is an integral part of the cue action and too often neglected. Good luck!

  • very well explained - best explanation video ever

( i have seen other videos showin the grip , but they dont demonstrate what sort of grip you need for power or slow shots

    cheers uploader

  • thanks a lot for all your videos , its great help . snooker is gloabalizing but unfortunatley we dont have any coaching academies here in the sub - continent . cheers

  • So on a long shot with more power you open the grip to stop the queue rising up and swinging like a pendulum. I wish someone had told me this before. I used to do this by dropping the elbow but it made me miss. The last bit you say don't close too tightly so I guess that when you finish closing the cue again you are back to holding the cue with the orginal amount of "squeeze" that you used on addressing the queue ball. This is excellent advice as this has never come naturally to me.

  • @SnookerSuccess cheers, well its a hard game ( still suffering) but trying my best

    keep uploading coaching videos

    tnx
