A movie based on the raw 'point cloud' data derived from a laserscan survey carried out by APR Services at Cheshire's last open pan salt works. The work was part of Enabling Works in preparation for restoration of the salt works by Cheshire West and Chester Council funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Movie created by APR Services, edited for upload by Take 27, Chester.
The movie travels through the drying, or Stove House areas, where the salt crystals were stacked in blocks to dry before being 'lofted' to the warehouse floors above. The journey starts in Stove House 3 (1890) to Stove House 4 (1930's) then to the Loading Bay (1960's) passing to Stove House 2 (1890) and then passing through the wall of Stove House 5 (1965) then moving around the pan. The work to dismantle Stove House 5 is recorded on a daily blog at www.lionsaltworks.blogspot.com
