@Malerman2 i agree 100 percent there is a big difference between a dog for show, a dog for a pet, working dogs, or whatever a dog is being use for.

Very nice runs! About how long did it take to train the extras for Open compared to novice? (The jumps, dumbell retrieves) I have a dog who finished his CD and have not decided if I want to go for CDX. He is almost 5 so I'm worried it is too late.

I LOVED the way your dog in the 1st video went straight , pretty far after jumping the broad jump. Is this how you teach it or was it a one time thing? I saw in the 2nd one he did not go out as far. To me it is really nice for safety .
If it is a method can you tell me it? Thanks

Mali are very active dogs and need a lot of physical exercise and mental stimulation. They also need a lot of socialization as puppies, more than other breeds. Generally they don't make good pets, but better working dogs and performance sport dogs. They need a job to do that can tire them out.

She already knew retrieving and jumping because i worked on that at the same time as the Novice exercises. She got her CD in May and her CDX in Oct.

I taught her to go over the jump and touch a target before coming to me. I actually have not really finished this behavior and that is why it was different the second day. She was looking for the target the first day.
