Finally got the boat on the water and running great! Used it all last summer, but i did some mods to it this summer, like the stearing system that comes from a old Ariens lawn tractor. The engine is a Briggs & Stratton 8hp from a 1977 Gilson snow blower, and it runs perfect!

  • top speed?

  • @thebigmann25 hard to measure

  • That appears to be an Ariens steering wheel, similar to the one on my mower.

  • @lburbo23 yes, steering wheel is from an old ariens lawn tractor

  • Looks like you could wind up with roasted nuts while steering. Probably nice in the winter but it looks like it might be hot in the summer.

  • lol. nic boat

  • @subaru47911 It's not a gearbox it's an adjuster for the prop angle, to give it different ratios, but also neutral and reverse. It was in the boat when I got it, and I don't know who made it.

  • what did you use for a gearbox, and how did you set up the shaft. I'm thinking of making one myself with a ten horse. Pretty awesome boat!!
