Where in the World is Your Video Playing? TubeMogul Readies Global Tracking System
Emeryville-based TubeMogul, the platform that allows video publishers to use one log-in page to upload to over 15 different video sharing sites, is expanding its analytics services.
A number of content creators and shows use TubeMogul including NextNew Networks, Tornante, CBS Interactive, Average Betty, Goodnight Burbank and National Lampoon.
The syndication service is free to video uploaders. Uploaders get some free analytics but the company charges for its deeper data. These tools tells publishers and their advertisers how many vidoes are streamed, how long they are viewed and other important elements like comments and ratings.
Beet.TV has learned that TubeMogul will soon ad geographic location to the analytics offering. This provides information where embedded videos are watch around the globe. Pretty cool. It will be part of the free service.
Analytics around online video consumption is critical to the growth of the industry. Last month, YouTube unveiled its own analytics tool.
Yesterday in beautiful Madison Park, I interviewed the TubeMogul himself, co-founder and CEO Brett Wilson. If these guys get the analytics right on Web video, they could have a big winner on their hands.
