I blame them! They should have taken a slide of your back immediately. I am so sorry you reherniated! God. Three surgeries. At least the leg pain is tapped. It can be so maddening. I had three surgeries as well, the third leaving me in the worst pain of all.
I feel for you. It's a major project just to get out of bed and take care of the most basic things... IF i can get any sleep. I envy the healthy who live out happy lives untouched by the physical torture I endure all the time.
My problem is I have a herniated disk in the lower back( L5)
All I knew for a long time is I had occasional back pain. Now, after an MRI, I know what is wrong with me and turned to pain meds. I am now struggling with lower back pain and addiction to the pain meds. Where does one type of pain end and the other begin? It's awful. I don't want to feel any pain - I have enough problems in my life.
Hello, i too have chronic low back pain, degenerative disc disease since the age of 15. Not very common at that age, i dealt with it until about 3 years ago and could not any longer, so i started to seek help. I have L3-S1 ruptured discs, t spine kyphosis, schmorls nodes throughout my spine, and cervical herniations. I had my first fusion on feb 25 of 2008, posterior lumbar interbody fusion, helped with my leg pain, but now have worse low back pain than ever. Been on High end opiates for 3 yr
Hey! I herniated my L5-S1 disk when I was 17 too! We opted not to have surgery, although I had a epidural near that area to relax the muscles. My herniation was pretty bad- I could barely walk for two weeks, and I did 6 months of PT. It's been about 3 years now, and my back pain has returned twice. I've been exercising, but I keep wondering if anything I do in terms of strengthening will every truly heal my back. Thanks for the post!
