Due to mechanical problems the xMB-8 was unable to debut during the mini funfly held at the TORCHS field so the MB-7/UAV had to step up to the plate in its place and make up for the fallen xMB-8. That Saturday wasn't the best day to fly nice and smoothly either: with 8 mph crosswinds well, it just wasn't an easy task to keep the helicopter steady all the time. The MB-7/UAV flew several times and performed very well.
I didn't want to push the MB-7 very hard at first b/c with the xMB-8 out of comission and heavy crosswinds I decided to limit my flight to simple pattern flight, with very limited backwards flight and a hint of a funnel. The last flight of the afternoon the wind calmed down so I was able to have some fun with the MB-7...
The good thing was that the oldest helicopter in the MB fleet was on stand by in case of emergency: the ever watchful and veteran MB-III, which is about to turn 2 years old now!
The song in the video, "The 7th sign", was chosen in tribute to the MB-7/UAV, the 7th helicopter in the fleet, that came to the rescue to its fallen brother.
