Step back in time to the 1991 Mopar Nationals and check out my Sox & Martin tribute Superbird as it takes on a Richard Petty tribute Superbird in a pair of exhibition match races at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio.

  • Does the Superbird have a horn? If it does than is it a stock roadrunner horn? all that aside, great video!

  • @TheHyperkid97 Yep, all production Superbirds had the purple Voice pf Road Runner horn.

  • What engine cam stock in the daytona?? Can't remember :(

  • @RaptureIZI These cars are both Superbirds but the standard engines in Superbirds and Daytonas was the 375 horse 440 four barrel.

  • its kinda sad that not only has nascar not progressed much since then but that theyv taken completly wiped out the phrase race on sunday sell on monday, they went from torinos, superbirds, daytonas, ect to camrys, fusions, impalas, and the only differanc between them is stickers, i think they can take there stickers and shove em i want real cars back, i want hemis and and 427s from chevy and ford and they can also shove those dam restrictor plates racin aint supposed to be safe

  • I want a Superbird when I get older, it's my dream to get that car; How much do they cost? I was hoping around $80,000-$200,000 If so I could have one before 'm 40

  • @syketo you wish they were that cheap

  • i had a real 1970 superbird,lemon twist yellow.Only car i ever tried to buy back.

  • @kennethdagley Wow, it's funny how time can embellish things sometimes. The car that went 216 at Bonneville was the K&K Insurance fully-prepped NASCAR Daytona. A production Superbird or Daytona, depending on gearing, topped out at between 140-150 MPH. You have to keep in mind that there no overdrives teansmissions back then. A 3.55 geared car has a 440 or Hemi wound up pretty high at 140 MPH.

  • @FistMad at the time they were built, a factory car (Daytona Charger) was taken to Bonneville Salt Flats and ran 216 mph on factory tune...... making it at that time and for quite a number of years, the worlds fastest production car

  • and the winners are MOPAR cool

  • what speed can u reach with a superbird???

  • @syketo yep i saw one with engine rebuilt at 78, 000$ :)

  • @STEAMTRAIN222 mopar or no car. nuff said.

  • damm fine auto nothing better than a mopar
