Bethie exhibits theuuuuuuuuh same symptoms as Francher, but Shatner can't find any physical damage at all. When the boy dies, Shatner is afraid she will too.

  • DD, You are posting some pure gold! My heartfelt thanks!

  • The townsfolk are are a group of isolated aliens cut off from the world, and only after a young human woman comes to teach does the truth come to light about their true nature.

Sure wish this was available on DVD.

  • I love this movie. I do have the VHS but the only DVD I have is from a transfer from a blank VHS tape. Yes, I taped it many years ago back when we had channel 27 out of Worcester (remember UHF?). Granted the tape quality was lousy but it had promos for The Saint, Barnaby Jones, Addams Family, Green Acres...and of course Ginzo knives; all of which is as warm and fuzzy as the movie itself.

I would pay serious money for a proper DVD.

  • Too bad I don't know the film, or context of the speech

  • 0:37, classic Shat pause.

  • funky4four - you might try reading the original story it's based on, "Pottage", by Zenna Henderson. It's in her book Pilgrimage and a more recent one with all the People stories called InGathering. You can buy used copies of both fairly inexpensively on line.

  • where can i get an essay for this movie

  • I uploaded four clips (this is not one of them) because yours didn't turn up in searches -- looked like there were none on youtube.

I'd worry they'd put too much glitzy CGI special effects in if done today!

Pottage was the most powerful of her stories and the most cinematic. Shatner's not too bad as Dr. Curtis. The film thankfully skipped Curtis' canon hysterics after the ESP-assisted operation, instead showing him taking it all in stride, just thankful there's a way to save the kids.

  • I definitely would love to see a DVD of the original and it would be mindblowing to see an extended remake that completely followed the books!

  • HeavyTrev, you're lucky if you've got it!

I haven't seen it available in region 1 here, unless it's in VHS format. Seems to be the case a lot of the time. Australia's got movies we don't, and Canada/US has some you don't have. It's SO annoying... :/

  • It is available on DVD, at least in Australia. I've got it in front of me right now, borrowed it from the local library :-)
