The chickens help me clear out some weeds from the daylily bed, while also showing off the normal chicken noises they make when they are happy.

  • Two a day from one chicken or total?

  • One egg per chicken per day, but actually two of them are lazy good-for-nothings and only lay every other day. But usually you don't get more than one egg a day from a chicken.

Six eggs a day would be quite a lot. Two is already a lot.

  • Do they lay eggs? Can you taste a difference between those and store bought?

  • Oh, yes, two a day. And the eggs taste great! If you ever get fresh free-range eggs from Sonoma at the store, these are like that, but denser, somehow, with a little bit of an herbal scent to them.

  • You have lovely hens. We used to have a Plymouth rock an a Red as well, very sweet chickens. They both passed due to old age. =( But now I have a 7 year old Australorp an a 2 year old White Rock. =D Love the pet chickens!

  • I want to hug them... they're so damn CUUUUTE!!! I love chickens :)
