Alfasud boxersound 16v Alfa Romeo Boxer with Ansa and CSC

1700 16 valve with Dell´Orto carburettors, Ansa race manifold (that is what the seller said, it has very long primaries that are 40mm and short secundairy pipes, not cross over), CSC middle and end mufflers, with bling bling CSC endpiece removed and replaced with 60 mm stainless. The brakes are Willwood Powerlite handbrake calipers with 295 solid discs at the rear and 166 V6 Brembo with 305 mm vented discs Fiat coupe turbo 20V in front. Headlights are Hella BMW DE and one high beam has a pool of water in it, typical for BMW...

@bert308gts Looks like a S2 or S3 due to the hatchback; did you have to cut the engine bay to fit the 1.7 in? (We had to do that on an S1 many years ago)

@chuckbiscuito It is a 1982 QO it even had the headlight wipers but no electric windows. The 16v engine fits without cutting, you have to use the 16v front crossmember and fabricate you own exhaust to clear the inside brakes, I have wheel brakes now and an Ansa manifoild. @AL33NUT Yes I made a rear underbumper skirt in the same style as the front spoiler, with twin pipes but it didn´t look right for the Sud, then I also backed into a pole and dented the thing, that made the decision easier to put a regular bumper with single pipe in the back. @bert308gts Got it. On the Series 1, I seem to remember there was not quite enough room for the 16v's heads and cambelt machinery, so the body was cut and brackets welded in. I had an S1 with an 8v 1.7 on carbs and that engine fit no probs, even with inboard brakes. On the 16v we ran outboard brakes to save time and due to the brake fade from additional heat (even with slotted discs). An S1 with 150bhp and just over 800kg was quite fun :). Thanks for posting!
