It is incorrect to say the Arab States attacked Ashdod in Israel in 1948. Israeli Ashdod was only established in 1956. Isdud was outside the extent of Israel's declared sovereignty. Israel has never legally annexed ANY territory. It is inadmissible to acquire territory by war (any war)

You: "the fact that there was never a Pal nation is irrelevant to actual legal status under int'l law". Sure, why should historical facts, truth, admissions by Bashara, be relevant when you have "int'l law" formed by a communist/dictator bloc of countries of the UN that determine Syria, Sudan, etc should oversee human rights committees.

Your the stupid person. Anyone who knows anything about the history of the region knows that the plight of the "pals" is DIRECTLY attributable to the fact that the surrounding Arab countries with a majority of OPECs reserves, REFUSED a 2 state solution in '48, even when the majority of the land would be reserved for Arabs. They attacked, lost. Expecting a quick defeat of the Jews, local Arabs fled to their "hosts". Now go blame the Jews for defending themselves.

Israel declared and was recognized as it officially asked to be recognized, "as an independent republic within frontiers approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in its Resolution of November 29, 1947" The '49 Armistice Agreements did not change those boundaries. Israel has never legally annexed any territories. Isdud of 1948 was not and is still not within Internationally recognized Israeli territory

Interesting history but irrelevant to the actual legal extent of Israel's internationally recognized sovereignty.

Correct. Egypt did not invade Israeli Ashdod (of 1956) Isdud (Ashdod 1948) was not in territory allotted for the Jewish State, was not declared as Israeli, was not recognized as Israeli, has never been legally annexed to Israel.

I meant to write "the original city was opposite Gaza, occupied by Egypt until '67." I disagree that it is illegal because NO neighboring Arab country accepted the UN Partition plan. You cannot retroactively turn a plan, rejected by the Arab parties, into law and impose it on the side that was attacked. Just as you cannot retroactively turn a '49 armistice agreement, rejected at the time by Arabs as being indicative of borders, into a fictitious implausible border on Israel.

The point is entirely accurate. Isdud (Ashdod) of 1948 is not Ashdod of 1956.

" The Egyptians attacked near Ishdod." They took Isdud (Ashdod 1948) until withdrawing.

" The Arabs didn't recognize the original UN partition" Isdud 1948 was in territory slated for the Arab State

"The Egyptians were pushed back to Gaza and occupied it" Correct, they didn't control Isdud after the war.

"The Israelis built Ashdod a few kilometers from the original Ishdod"

    Precisely as the video says

Ashdod belonged to the Jews (the tribe of Judah) since about 1200 BC.It was taken by SargonII (Asyria), then returned to the Kingdom of Judah during Ezra. Alexander invaded it but it was retaken by the Jews until conquered by the Romans who destroyed it.The Ottomans established Ishdod, an Arab village. It was then taken by the Brits.Egypt invaded '48.Got pushed back.

The point is that your video is not accurate. The Egyptians attacked near Ishdod. The Arabs didn't recognize the original UN partition. The Egyptians were pushed back to Gaza and occupied it. The Israelis built Ashdod a few kilometers from the original Ishdod.

"Did you want them to start a war with Egypt to get back Gaza to build Ashdod on its original grounds?"

Israel occupied the area in 1956 you silly silly person. You made the point yourself " Egyptian forces withdrew in the war."

The original location of Isdud (Ashdod 1948) is in territory illegally acquired by war and never legally annexed to Israel.

"their original city was occupied by Egypt until '67. "

    It wasn't
