HMS Brave Borderer ( P1011) Vosper Perkasa Motor Torpedo Boat (MTB) Fast RC Boat

This boat was scratch built from plans in the late 70's at the time with an ED diesel engine. We could never get it to run properly so it was laid up for years in the loft. We decided this year to bring the boat back to life with a brushless motor and new radio gear. This footage was taken over clapham common.

Originally we had an ed diesel engine but never ran that well, not enough power, if I was you I would keep an electric motor but go for a brushless motor you can pick them on ebay from around £35 you will need a speed controller an a battery to suit, that's all we have and it goes very well lifts nicely out of the water.

Great video. I have the same boat that my dad mae for my brither and me back in1962ish. I restored her to fully glory a few years ago and change the motor from petrol to battery. She still ran great but never as good as she did with the petrol engine. Can you tell me what diesle engine you have used Cheers

hey nice video.. im in the middle of finishing an old mtb so its nice to see some videos. do those diesel engines rev the same as the nitro motors? i want to get mine slow for scale. yours looks awesome tho, i hope to get mine like that soon.
