http://san.bauer-power.net - I originally setup a SAN cluster on SuperMicro servers using Openfiler 2.99 and DRBD with Corosync. Man was the performance terrible! I rebuilt the SAN using Ubuntu, iSCSI Enterprise Target, and GlusterFS! Performance was outstanding!

Take a look at the two videos, notice how hard the disk were working with DRBD? It severely impacted performance. The SAN was completely unusable in VMware. Rebuilding the SAN using Ubuntu and GlusterFS, it actually works flawlessly!

Plus I stretched GlusterFS over ZFS so now my SAN does deduplication and compression!

  • Creating a video for the whole process would be great if you have time. You can even do it under two VMs just to show us the whole process. Thank you in advance.
