I refer you back to Mark 6:3, in which it is very clear that Jesus had brothers and sisters:
Mark 6:3
Is not this the Carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here among us? And they took offense at Him and [a]were hurt [that is, they [b]disapproved of Him, and it hindered them from acknowledging His authority] and they were caused to stumble and fall.
@SarahSLH I find Matthew 27:56 a perfect solution to you out of context Mark 6:3 "Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children."(Matthew 27:56)..humm so did Mary, the mother of Jesus, have children by Zebedee, or is this a different Mary?...The early church writtters spell this out quiet clearly..ever read Papias, diciple of John the apostle? He stes there are 4 Marys in the gosples, care to point me out those 4 marys'????
Luke 1:28 (AMP) And he came to her and said, Hail, O favored one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you! Blessed (favored of God) are you before all other women!
'Hail' is a greeting, not an expression of adoration!! And yes, Mary was blessed. But she was still just a human woman (a sinner who needed a Saviour) and she did have other children. See Mark 6:3.
Nowhere in the Bible are we told to pray to departed saints, but to God.
@SarahSLH "Hail mary" is the correct translation of the origianl bible,(Luke 1:28) cannonized in 393 A.D. by the united church, why have you changed this verse in your modern KJV(1600s)? Sry Mary never had other kids. We do not pray to the dead we pray to the holy body of Christ. The Saints are not dead, they are one with and in Jeses with him where he is(John 17:20-26) part of his mystical body. Wether you like it or not the Saints are with Jesus where he is.
1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
You are not telling the truth, Catholics do worship Mary. Whatever else is HAIL MARY? And they call her the mother of God!! The blessed virgin and so forth, whereas in actual fact she went on to have other children by her husband!! And they pray to saints, in contrast to the word of God which forbids attempted contact of the dead!!!
@gtepp031387 The work of the cross is FINISHED. You cannot add to what Jesus has done yourself, and it is insulting to God to suggest that we can. He gave us everything in his Son, we cannot save ourselves through rituals, works, traditions etc, it is all vanity in the heart of man. We can only repent and trust totally in what Jesus has done and gratefully receive Him as our Personal Lord and Saviour. The Catholic church has extra additions to their Bible which are not the word of God.
@gtepp031387 The bread and wine are SYMBOLIC of the body and blood of the Lord. Is the blood of Jesus literally being shed every week for the Catholic mass? I don't think so. How insulting to the Lord who suffered for us, to suggest He must continue to do so, the work of the cross is DONE, we are supposed to live in the good of it now. Anyway tasting literal blood is forbidden in the NT. Acts 15:29, so RC's are totally wrong on that one.
@SarahSLH Well first off the bible was put together and cannonized by the Catholic church. 2nd a state of purification has always been believed, even the Jews believe in a state of purification after death. 3rd The Eucahrist is the body and blood of Jesus, the LORD says so himself. 4th We do not worship Mary nor anyone else but GOD, and we have no Idols. 5th The priest forgives sin through the power of the holy spirit, which Jesus gave the ability to do in the bible...Please do go on.
@gtepp031387 I would have to agree with the Bible which exposes much of Roman Catholicism as heresy. E.g. Purgatory, the idea of eating literal flesh and drinking literal blood, exalting Mary, idolatry, aparitions of Mary, statues/idols, priests granting forgiveness, etc I could go on.
Most of the Catholic so called "saints" were actually Nephilm sons of the fallen angels and women. (demonic beings)
