A sample of acceleration on my Fiat Punto 1.7 TD with modified fuel pump, intercooler, variable vane turbocharger from Audi with pneumatic actuator, and longer gears from 1.9 TD engine. Notice the manifold pressure gauge slammed to the upper value, it's 1,2 bar but actually 1,3 bar (I checked it compared with a precision manometer). I was not completely at full thottle. Please note that my car is not intended to be a race car but rather a cruiser, and modification are intended to increase engine efficiency together with output power. A proof to that is that I have an average fuel consuption on highway of 15 km per litre of fuel.
@sunppaa At the time I made this video the fuel pump was its original and was not boost regulated, but now I replaced it with a 1.9 TD fuel pump that is also boost regulated. The turbo is the GT2052V from Garrett. The intake manifold is modified because I put an intercooler. It should have about 90 - 100 HP. The only problem is that the clutch sometimes slips because of the huge torque the engine now develops. ^_^

Very nice work! Is your fuel pump boost regulated? What turbo are you using? Did you modify the intake manifold? Have you had any problems with the engine? Any idea how many horsepower the car makes?
I'm working on the same car at the moment!
