  • What pedal/effect was that you used at 1:20?

  • @DonzeJ it's a Zvex fuzz factory

  • Hey i was wondering what fender

telecaster you were using for this? thanks

  • It's a highway 1

  • Does the telecaster work good with the fuzz factory? I heard it's more a blues/country guitar

  • Telecasters certainly are twangy, I think they sound really great with fuzz. I like putting it through a fuzz factory but prefer it through my old big muff.

  • You make some of the coolest riffs with all those loops man, I love it!

  • are these the stock pickups or did you change them? sounds really really good!:)

  • @oberfiesling No one buys a guitar because it's 'made' for a specific genre. You can make ANY guitar sound the way you want. Just pick the one you feel most comfortable with. Telecasters are used in rock all the time anyways and have been for a loooong time.

  • @Zubirrex Yeah, man. For sure for sure. I can agree with you there. Haha.

  • @DavidMackey11 I agree that certain woods and pickups can alter the sound of a guitar. I just posted in frustration due to obviously young or new players thinking that a certain guitar/pickup/amp combination is necessary to get a certain sound. I'm sure you know that that's not the only thing to it, and we both agree that it's mostly in the hands, or in other words, practice, practice, practice.

  • @Zubirrex Nah, there's so much more to an actual guitar than just a piece of wood with strings and pickups. Like different speakers on amps different pickups will give you different sound dramatically. Some are extremely hot some are more thick. If it's hand wired or not. Hand wired electronics are best. The type of wood... literally if you knock on different kinds of wood it will give you a different tone each one. But you're right most tone comes from the hands.

  • @Gemusician Why wouldn't it? It's a piece of wood with steel strings and a magnetic pickup like every other guitar on the planet. If you want to play metal with a Telecaster, then play metal with a telecaster. Half the Rage Against the Machine songs on their first CD is played on a stock Mexican Tele. Prince has played Telecasters his entire career, and he distorts the shit out of it on the "Let's Get Crazy" solo. Don't worry about the guitar, worry about your hands and the amp.

  • Great stuff! Its really interesting how fender amps add to post rock. That shimmery high end is really complimentary to the genre. I use a Vox AC30 though. Totally different tone, but still very pure.

    Keep making awesome music!

    (check out the music!)

  • @oberfiesling I use a telecaster for hard punk, hardcore and hard rock, definitely not just for country =)

  • Hey, cool stuff. What are your fuzz factory settings?
