I remember in 2010 for my high school project I interviewed 2 gentle men living in the flood tunnels underneath las Vegas. Really shocked me that in the US we have this problem.

That sounds like an interesting project, especially for a high schooler. Many Americans do not realize how wide spread homelessness has become. Thanks for your support!

It was one of the most heart wrenching interviews from Invisible People. A few followers from Marks website tried to locate the teen so they could help. Thanks for your support, check out the link in the description for more about information on the movie.

Social media and networking sites are amazing tools and it is so wonderful to see passionate people like this using them in such helpful ways. What is the status of this film and of his work with the homeless? I think it would be a great idea to share the links to his social media pages below inside the description of this trailer... It would drive more support to this great cause. Great work.

If we really think about it... what makes a person homeless, is being in a place, alone, and not having the support of friends and family, most of the time. Whether it's because they're inebriated all the time, have a mental handicap, or just trying to get by in the only life they know how to manage. The kind of homeless people that are less mentioned are the one's that couch surf, camp, or fish/hunt/barter to survive. I met a man the was illiterate, but had a content homeless, outdoorsy life.

That's a good story. I'm glad to see that you were able to pull out of that situation successfully. It seems like there should be a movie about your experience. Actually with Alaska being the setting, it kind of reminds me of the movie, "Into the Wild." I watched another documentary on homeless people recently & idk how accurate this is but it made it seem like most of them are mentally ill, drug addicts or enjoy the no bills life. I know some people that are one check away from being homeless.

I was a homeless youth when I moved up here. I was down-sized, and took the opportunity to go to AK. I enrolled in school and student housing, and improved things from there.
Squatting in a house is different that making a home available to homeless people. I agree that some laws need to be changed, but I can't justify an open-door policy on homes that are "unoccupied." I would expect that those homes would depreciate in value, until someone could get it for... maybe the taxes due on it.

Sadly that was the case. He was far from home also. You can find the full interview with him on Mark's Invisible People site.
