Hemming t-shirts is best done by keeping the original bottom hem, using fairly loose tension on the sewing machine and avoiding to pull the fabric as it feeds through the machine. Hem a t-shirt in a way that looks professional with instructions from a sewing craftsman in this free video on sewing.

How about the stretchability of the hem (bottom of the shirt)? Will it stretch without breaking the thread? How do you make sure that it doesn't?

Guessing here, but I think he did not cut the bottom part off and then re-pin it to the t-shirt. I think he just folded the t-shirt (exactly how I can't see) and pinned it before sewing it.

If you stop the clip at 2:39 you can see how he has attached the lower (factory bottom) to the upper part of the t-shirt. Another clue to how he has pinned things is at 1:26 where you can see that the t-shirt is inside out. Other than that, I cannot figure out how he has things pinned. If anyone can figure it out I'd appreciate a comment here. It surprises me that so many people have seen this and there haven't been more questions.

I sure would have liked to have seen the finished product.
Cause I am not sure how he finished it.
I have long t shirts I need to cut bottm off and re-hem
It seems to difficult, I might give them away.

@wvfeets...sewing over pins can be dangerous as the sewing machine needle does not always *go right over them*. It may hit a pin, break and pieces of it scatter like shrapnel...not good for one's eyes!
