  • well its fair to say the more you criminalise drugs the larger the increase in crime as you increase its black market value.

In my opinion we should adopt the portugese system where they tackled drug crime by legalising and producing/providing clean and regulated drugs. The money from this was used to set up therapy for people who wanted to get off drugs.

the portugese crime rate plummeted once they introduced this method

  • Thats not always the case though, some are speaking from experience and just saying what they think would work to solve the problems. Its not the media coming up with solutions on how to solve these problems, they are just reporting peoples suggestions be it government, charities or young people themselves.

  • its annoying how people think that green is automatically a bad thing, also, funny how they hand pick the most conservative minded "sensible" types for the vid.

  • Well You Lot Obviously Don't Know Anything Because I Know Majourity Of People Around My Area Who Started Taking Drugs From The Age Of 13. So Relating This To People Who Are 18 And Over Or Even 16 Is Wrong. Think About The Younger People They Are The Ones Who Need Help.

  • 42sec - well yea it would be saying its ok to smoke it if it became legal..

  • You do know alcohols a drunk right.

  • yes, various people are saying that because legalization of soft drugs e.g. cannabis and ecstasy. could be taxable, controllable and the money generated through drugs via taxes could be a huge income for the government. alcohol is legal, which is a very harmful drug, tobacco kills hundreds of thousands of people every year, but alcohol and tobacco will not be made illegal because the tax generated from the two is so huge, the absence of these revenues would cripple the economy.

  • your saying sell drugs, and use the profit to get people off drugs?

  • true that! plus the war of drugs has ruined so many lives. terrible things have been done in mexico and columbia to innocent people

  • the NHS does not prescribe cannabis.

  • Thats a bit presumptious. What are you basing that statement on?
