I love to play drums on guitar hero. that was the reason I tried the beats and fills on a real drum. guess, it worked, now i'm a little addicted to drums so you're lessons are more than welkom!!:D I'll try to keep it down :)

I'm an older guy just learning to play and I really like the way you teach, simple, understandable, yet I feel like I'm progressing. Thanks !

i just tried beat 1a today at my friends house, he doesnt have a ride/crash cymbal (the one on the far right) ahaha so, i did beat 1a with an open arm instead of cross armed, but im right handed is that okay ?

ive been trying while watching this video and i keep using the bass with the snare :(

What you want to do is practice your foot independently. There are many techniques to use, but what worked for me (at first) was this motion: striking the bass drum (mostly upper leg), lifting my heel slightly and lifting my leg and relaxing the leg (ready position). This will leave the beater very cloe to the head, but not pushing on it to disrupt the previous strike, plus you will be ready for the next strike because your beater is right there in ready position.

@Hihat224 LOL - This never bothered me while practicing (the headphones must have been muting it) but when watching my own videos I noticed the annoying squeaking. You'll be happy to know that I liberally applied some white lithium grease a couple of years back and the annoying squeak has stayed gone.

Most people initially have a problem where the right foot wants to follow their right hand. Slow the beats down and keep practicing. The limb independence thing just comes with practice.
