  • it looks like you need to do alot of slow work, you dont have much control, try a tie down bc his nose is striahgt up in the air, and when u dont have control especialy with a new beginner horse, you could train him the wrong way.. so just take it easy there is no hurry to start runnin him, everythin takes time

  • @rodeochic93 hes 22 and been barrel racing for several years.. :/

  • Good runs!

Rubber bands will help you keep your stirrups lol.

  • haha yea i finally tried some. still pulled the barrel over but they help alot. thanks!

  • Last run had and awsome 2nd and 3rd barrel!!!

  • Haha, the comments make the video so funny!!! You should just let him loose kinda let him do his own thing. He knows the pattern let him run it, you can guied him but let him do it at his own speed don't hold him back.

  • I think if you fix your first barrel by coming in a little tighter and sittin down he will snap around faster n come off tighter makin your 2nd barrel better. make sure when you come off your 3rd to hold him longer youre tighten that turn. Something else that will help is making a right hand circle before you start your pattern outside the gate then send him. It puts him on the right lead, in your jackpot run he starts on the left then switches when he gets to the barrel which is extra steps.

  • He definitely needs some slow work. It looks like he wants to drop his shoulder, I really noticed it when he comes into the second barrel. try some counter bending and just picking up his shoulders. move them side to side and work on side passing It really helps get them into position if you miss you mark a little.

  • maybe to get him off that second barrel do wide circles around the troubled barrel during exhibitions and he might do better. And try some round pen work sometimes when horses are only running barrels they get overwhelmed do some good round pen work and maybe some long trail rides. look good tho keep on working at it

  • Yeah I've seen some ppl ruberband their feet in...do you pull the rubberband onto the ball of your foot or between the heel and sole?
