  • no they didnt catch her

  • that would never happen!

    eagles are slow in comparison

  • See, that would normally be true because of the Peregrine's phenomeal speed. The only problem is that the Peregrine gets this speed only through use of the "stoop" technique. On the wing, a Peregrine and pigeon can fly at about the same speed.

Additionally, Peregrines ARE a choice prey for Eagles and Great Horned Owls. If they're low enough that they really don't have "room to use gravity" (or "stoop"), they CAN be caught.

  • @Antioxidantt actualy-Golden eagles have been clocked at over 200mph in a stoop(dive). Peregines have been recorded to stoop in excess of 300mph. They are not the same speed-peregrine are much faster and adult peregrines are not common prey for ANY animal.

  • @oneworldguy actually-there are cases of adult peregrine falcons killing Golden, bald and white bellied seas eagles.

An Adult peregrine ISN'T going to be caught by anoher bird without an ambush scenario. Inexperienced and juvenile birds are the ones at risk.

  • @kokumaru golden eagles hunt peregrines and they kill them plenty of times normally a healthy adult will get away but not always or else eagles wouldn't bother hunt them and eagle in a dive is much faster then a peregrine flying strait

eagles can go 160 mph in dive peregrines are not that much faster so if the eagle is higher in the air..........need i explain what happens

  • @Pml2DarkNight, I never said a Peregrine is not a tough animal. Kaver (our Resident male until 2008) killed an American Bald Eagle over the Rochester skies for flying too close to its nest. I know what they are capable of! My original point was that the Peregrine Falcon CAN outrun an Eagle if it doesn't see a need to fight. If the Peregrine is nesting or defending its established territory, of course they'll fight! Passing through another raptor's territory that it doesn't want? Maybe not.

  • @Pml2DarkNight andean condor is a big bird 310cm wingspan a peregrine is a half 1/3 of it.Condor is my second favorit. i dont choose a bird because of his ability but because of his mentality as a predadot. no predator can kill a peregrine except if its on the ground bigger than a raccoon. peregrine attack people attack dog its all on youtube and you tell me he is afraid of a bald eagle. i kick the ass out of that bald ass eagle i want to see it flying. i love bald eagle but in this case i stay

  • @oneworldguy a predator angains other in fight can be dangerous. but like i said type on google peregrine falcon compared to an eagle. and go on images. He more than prove that he is capable he killed a redtaile hawk. now he beat up an bald eagle. what you expect. he is not that smal he is about 60 cm a bald eagle is 70-100. wingspan is short because he dont glide much. but he still fly thermal as gliding.an eagle got flaps which make a mirage of being big when its not. you big bird? andean condo

  • @oneworldguy oh well if you believe on that. but what i;ve seen what nature prove is different. here is the thing. a bir bird wont matter if its following a peregrine a peregrine not only got the speed but its an AGRESSIVE BIRD. which means it depends on him self if he wants to fight or not. but he is more than capable.my friend the world its not what we think.a lion can kill an elephant and also a giraff. and wild dog or wolf can kill a lion because their in group. thats hw nature is.predator

  • @Pml2DarkNight, where I am NOT incorrect, though, is that a Peregrine would take flight from an Eagle. You presented details of an Eagle's size as if all species were the same. Have you seen the specifications of say, an American Bald Eagle versus the Golden Eagle which has been known to pull goats over steep ledges on mountainsides? There is a drastic difference. Unless an adult Peregrine is nesting or defending its established territory, they will not usually engage in aerial combat.

  • @Pml2DarkNight, I actually never said a Peregrine Falcon would run away from an Eagle. I should have clarified that in my earlier statement. In Rochester, we have lost two of our juveniles to predation by larger raptors once they began to leave the area and were being monitored by satellite transmitter. One of these occured just outside of Rochester in an area known to be home to Great Horned Owls. The other occured in Canada west of Toronto in a known Eagle territory.

  • @oneworldguy no sir your wrong, a peregrine falcon actualy wont run from an eagle. In this case probably he was youth.A peregrine falcon have something that the other birds dont have. What i called Mind, a peregrine dont care about it size, its just 20 cm smaller in body lenght than an eagle and the wing is just 1-2 feet less than an eagle. What i like the peregrine is not the speed but it mind. Please dont discuss look on google peregrine falcon compared to eagle. nature prove what human dont.
