I know I don't have permission to upload this song but I just wanted to share it with a friend but a part of me wants the whole world to know about it.
'Grandma' is such a beautiful song by Australia pop-folk group The Little Stevies and are one of my favourite bands. It is such a simple song (and I mean that with the highest regard) because it does exactly what is need to tell such a universal story with feeling, thoughtfulness and honestly.
It's more than a song; it is a vivid story that lets you feel that you the song is about you and your grandma.
Also, anyone who has experienced just an ounce of Melbourne culture with smile at the tone of the song and its references to trams and the Prince of Wales.
I hope you enjoy. I know I did and still do.
PS. If you love this then visit The Little Stevies at http://www.thelittlestevies.com/ or head to iTunes to download their first album Love Your Band.
PPS. Listen to at least 2.13 (just after the bridge) for the most haunting and beautiful part.
I have owned the CD's of this song for ages now, and heard this tons of times, however have never fully paid attention to the lyrics until reading them now.
This song has really touched me now, amazing song.
