This video "Dayung Sampan" features Noraniza Idris, and He Yun (from China Hebei) playing the Erhu, a Chinese traditional instrument. "Dayung Sampan" is the Malay version of the famous Chinese tune "Tian Mi Mi" (甜蜜蜜)。This is a fresh collaboration between the Malay and Chinese culture.

  • wat is er hu?can anyone explain to me

  • The Erhu, commonly known in the West as the 'Chinese violin', is a two-stringed bowed instrument, capable of producing sad, mysterious, or joyful melodies. Erhu is said to be the closest instrument in sound to the human voices, bird cries and various sounds in our surrounding environment.

  • I wish I can get one of those

do you know of any places online that I can buy it?

where do I go to buy He Yun's albums/CDs?

  • Can I know where are you located currently?

  • Dayung sampan is not malaysian version of famous chinese tien mi mi, but tien mi mi is chinese version of indonesian traditional song dayung sampan, teresa teng made it famous as chinese song, but she sung also the original version Dayung Sampan. This song already famous during dutch colonial time as the Stambul Dayung Sampan.

  • This song is interesting. Whether Malaysian or Indonesian -- the song really became famous in the 1960s when it was featured in a black and white Malay movie. I cannot remember the name of the movie -- but it was made by a studio in Singapore which at that time had a bustling movie industry -- particularly Malay movies.
