So it's not Tegan and Sara, but Tegan WAS there somewhere! Not to mention that this is an issue they very much care about. If they hadn't posted about the rally on their MySpace page, we would have never known about it! Unofficial protest (can you believe there were that many people there for an unofficial protest??) against the passing of Proposition 8 - which would amend California's constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. Held in L.A. (Silverlake), California, the weekend after Prop 8 passed 52% to 48% in California following a massive misleading, (and blatantly false) ad campaign waged by the religious right against the GLBT community. www.noonprop8.com /18 March Against Proposition 8, Los Angeles, California 11/08/08

  • @gabriela164 There was a LOT of publicity about this protest in Southern California but I think it was mostly just that night or week. It wasn't HUGE but people certainly knew about it.

  • some people get jumped here in the bay area if you go to protests like that

and others get really rowdy too

but im also scared because some people are really tall and might "bump" into me because im vertically challenged

    =P

  • lol... well, i don't live in L.A., i actually live in D.C., so that was all a little confusing!

and the mob wasn't really *that* scary... i didn't fear for my camera at all. :)

  • im not used to it either.

i only lived there for a few weeks...

and hopefully i can go to a rally on saturday

but i wont be able to bring a camera..

too expensive to put at risk of a mob! XD

  • oh right! she would have been there, wouldn't she?? i didn't even think of that, i'm not used to being in L.A... LOL...

  • we so are!!!

and wikiedinkie was here as well^^

We had to win sooner or later anyway.

    =P

  • we're on the winning side of history... i believe it.

  • I was really curious as to how this went because there wasn't much publicity about this certain protest.

    Wow!

    It must have been amazing!

    We have not lost yet!

We are still here, after so many years of searching for equality!

Anyhow, I'm glad Tegan and Sara are still very supportive of this.

It's not a change that's gonna happen overnight, but we have to go on!

    YAY!

    =D

P.S. Liz Feldman was here too =P
