i know this is 6 months later, but if you're still interested.....

i study osteopathy at the moment, in my first year, and there are plenty of 5ft2- 5ft3 petite ladies who practice.

after a while your body does manage to cope with the heavier set people and you are able to adapt.

whether patients fill comfortable with that, you can never tell! but as long as you're a good osteopath they'll keep coming back!

  • Hello, I would like to become an osteopath. I have been doing alot of research to feed my interests. I am 5'2 in height and slim built, petite in figure. I would just like to know if my physique affect my capabilities in becoming a good osteopath? Will patients rather see a well built osteopath rather than a petite lady? please let me know.

  • @BodyAlignment in the sports science field we call it PNF stretching

  • Your right. Have you come across Leon Chaitow's book they have all those variations you mentioned

  • my chiropractor/(soccer coach) showed me this last time i visited and i was really amazed

  • There is alot more than this to muscle energy techniques....there is Post isometric relaxation....Reciprocal Inhibition......Slow Isotonic Eccentric stretch....Pulsed MET.......and different ways to apply the techniques depending on whether the condition is acute or chronic....;))

  • This is great Dr. Shapiro. Thank you Expert Village! I really appreciate the demonstrations. They are vital to anyone interested in osteopathy!
