DETAILS: Reportedly #7 produced overall of 355 Factory Turbo Looks imported in 1984. Rare color and option combination suggests the car may be 1 of 1. Car defies the 116,000 miles on the odometer, looking more like a 25,000 mile car. Best of both worlds 911 with low-mileage looks without the dry-rot and failing parts of a Porsche that sits in the garage 350 days a year.
Added new re-upholstered Sport Seats, Rod Birch customized audio system with Nakamichi unit, carbon fiber door sills, tinted windows, upgraded 8x16/9x16 Fuchs re-conditioned to factory 349 option "Fuchs Wheels Painted Exterior Color", H4 headlight upgrade, polished and powder-coated engine parts, carbon-fiber engine shroud, white face gauges with new glass and bulbs, aluminum gauge bezels.
EXTRAS INCLUDED: Extra floor mats, floor mat protectors, front nose mask, mirror masks, two car covers both indoor/outdoor, original comfort seats, Porsche factory marketing and sales materials.
RECOGNITION: This vehicle was a featured car in Tony Corlett's "Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera: The Last of the Evolution", available at book stores and Amazon.com.
Photos are prominent including the inside cover fold, several inside pages, and a full two-page spread in the book's centerfold. The author focuses on Porsche 911s based on the 3.2 Carrera engine, considered by many to be the last and best true descendent of the original 1964 Porsche 911. As one of the first Factory Turbo Looks imported into the United States and because of its rare color and option combination, Corlett chose to feature the car prominently as one shining example of the best work built by Porsche in the 1980s. A copy of the book will go to the new owner.
The car has also appeared in the Griot's Garage Handbook, and won more than two dozen concours and People's Choice awards since 2002 — most of them from Porsche-specific events and competitions.
SERVICE WORK: Receipts go back to the original owner and are believed to be complete. Almost $4,000 of preventive maintenance was done in the last 60 days at Porsche of the Village (Cincinnati) including new oil return tubes, a valve adjustment, re-wiring power seats, and other scheduled service interval work.
Within the last nine years, the clutch has been replaced and 1st and 2nd gear synchros replaced (preventive).
REPLACED/REPAIRED ITEMS: Within my ownership I have replaced the windshield (cosmetic only), replaced the front rubber valance, rear rubber bumperettes (cosmetic only), front and rear signal lens indicators/bulbs, repainted the side skirts (cosmetic only), repainted the front spoiler, repainted the wiper arms, and replaced the rear fender stone guards.
Just a note that this vehicle found a happy new owner and home in Atlanta, GA. Congrats to the new caregiver. They got a gem. I will probably never another platinum metallic Factory Turbo Look with factory ordered matching Fuchs in my lifetime unless I drive to the Peach State to see it.
