My father has over a periode of time built his own Model-A Pickup -30, only using old original Ford parts. This video shows the first time he and his friends tried to start "the old lady" up, and then the very first time he drove it. I sat beside him with the camera, and i can tell you, I've never been so scared. I have cut the movie myself, enjoy!

  • Somebody PULLLEEEEZE tell the guy in "take one" that the best way to break your arm is to crank it the way he was. I don't care how tight the engine was, if it fired back, that wrist/elbow/shoulder was toast.

  • I just noticed you're in Sweden. Ironically, I'm in Oklahoma and just restored a 1968 Volkswagen I found in a barn here that originally came from Sweden. Still has Swedish registration. Anyway, great video, and super great project!

  • :46 omg did he say, "ITS ALIVE!"?

  • @TheIndustrialphreak 70's to early 90's stunk for just about everybody except Benz, maybe Volvo, and Japan. Try any Ford car created anew at or after the 1st gen Fusion. Fusions are pretty bullet proof.

  • "SKOLBUSS" ha ha, get it.

  • @dwnrety1 You heard WRONG!!! The new Ford vehicles are BETTER and SAFER than EVER!! If maintained regularly, They should last a good 40 or so years!!!!

  • @barkulator Between 60 and 80,000 I think.

  • How many miles between engine rebuilds for these old Model A engines?

  • @gregwddriver

Yes INDEED!!! PULL the crank UP without your THUMB wrapped around it! Do otherwise and rip your thumb off and break your wrist, arm, and/or elbow.
