http://www.eco-rescue.info Actor Harrison Ford kicks off the Global Climate Summit2 - an unprecedented gathering of state and federal leaders from around the world hosted by Governor Schwarzenegger. To help save the planet, Ford has has launched an initiative aimed at reducing tropical deforestation. It is called TeamEarth. Its initial goal: garnering support for forest protection in advance of the Copenhagen climate negotiations in December.
Deforestation - clearing and burning of tropical forest - create 20% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. That is more than is emitted by all the world's cars, planes and trains.
TeamEarth is collecting some 1 million e-mail signatures calling for emergency action funding by the time of the summit. Says Ford: "We are all born a part of TeamEarth," adding"This is our big hope, this is our Big Game. The only question is whether we get off our butts and get in the game." See below for more details about Ford's Team Earth. http://www.eco-rescue.com LOS ANGELES, California, October 2, 2009 (ENS) - At Governor Schwarzenegger's Global Climate Summit today, 30 governors, premiers, mayors and senior officials from around the world and the United Nations declared that workable solutions to global warming exist and they want a strong climate deal to emerge from negotiations in Copenhagen this December.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who convened this second annual summit of subnational leaders, said, "Addressing the problems caused by climate change is the greatest environmental challenge of our time."
"We have deepened our partnerships and renewed our commitment to work collaboratively to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a cleaner planet and stronger economy for the next generation. In signing this declaration we are sending a powerful message to the national leaders negotiating the next global climate agreement that we are ready for action," said Schwarzenegger. "The time to act is now."
The participants agreed to work together to pursue clean transportation and mobility, support national climate change legislation, include forests in climate policy development, acknowledge the need for adaptation efforts, and recognize the role of subnational governments in the discussions on the next global climate agreement.
In December 2009, world leaders are expected to meet in Copenhagen and agree on a treaty to limit greenhouse gases that will take over when the Kyoto Protocol expires at the end of 2102.
Harrison Ford says, "To succeed, we will need the support of the governments and communities of rainforest nations, meaningful involvement from private investors and the governments of major developed countries -- and the citizens who can force them to act."
Ford is a board member of Conservation International, the org that has achieved much notoriety for its expeditions to remote regions Indonesia, where it has discovered new species and those thought extinct.
Such companies as Dell, Harrah's, SC Johnson, Starbucks and Wrigley are partners in the effort. The Team Earth campaign will take on climate change, water, health, waste and food, with a goal of motivating people to take action.

Um... didn't you guys get the memo? It's over, there is no global warming. It was all a radical socialist fraud to redistribute the wealth.
Sure, plant more trees and manage the forests, but this cap and trade stuff is bullshit. Someone needs to pull this video, it's embarrassing.

Well then the third world is most guilty? Then why are we to pay the third worlds distruction of the world under Obam's Treaty to take place in Denmark in December?" NOT UNDER MY WATCH"!
