Sygic Mobile Maps 10 - Install Guide - Nokia N900

Version 8.24

1. Install AppInstaller (available from extras-dev repository)
1. Install setupsygic.deb (will be named differently, as long as its the .deb file just name it to what you like)
2. Copy Maps (you can use any maps for Sygic 10) and .mlm file to N900/Maps/
3. Copy modifica.pl to N900
4. install rootsh if its not installed
5. Run X-Terminal and type:

sudo gainroot
cd /home/user/MyDocs
perl modifica.pl (ignore any errors you get and exit x-terminal)


Now run the app and you should see it working provided you did everything right :)


*note make sure you copy all the files and folders to the root of n900 which is known as /home/user/MyDocs*

I live in Canada, so i renamed the file to can.mlm ... problem is when i boot up sygic, it tells me no maps loaded. Ideas?

@hraeta2 it has to match the map file/folder, so if your map folder/file name is Can then your .mlm file should be can.mlm , if it isnt then juse use the name of the map as is and name your mlm file after that.

and how can i update maps? Is it possible?

@shosteryus you can add the repository in the app manager for it but I have still not found any newer updates. I wouldn't worry about updating anyway as if you use the 3g connection as well then it updates any route or data if required (if a connection is still available) but it should be fine.

My N900 dosen't seem to charge the GPS signal!I'm in Europe - Italy.I have all the maps from Europe .Initially the .mlm file was named "Drive10 Europe.mlm".As i see in the video you named the mlm file with the contry map folder.I did exactly as in video but seems not to get gps signal.I need to set something to my Internal gps,like the adress i have there!? Mine is " supl.nokia.com" I hope you'll see this post!Thanks for the tutorial!

@Basurci lol in UK we do need it! so I keep it on, shows you the hot spots or reported places where they are hiding and for traffic updates gives u alternative routes, so handy for us. But in your case you can use onboard gps or buy a bluetooth 1 off ebay, they arent expensive. Bluetooth 1s much better, they connect to more sattelites

@360NextLevel Well I don't need traffic updates and speed traps etc. Cuz In Lithuania,Uk or japan you won't find such things xD
