If we want to be a "superpower" then we have to accept that the world is going to care what we say and do. And we have to accept the good and bad that comes with. That being we have tremendous influence on global politics, but we also have the responsibility of not screwing everything up.
With admiration and respect comes criticism and disagreement.
Such is the life of a global superpower. If you like running around chanting USA #1, then you gotta accept everything that comes along with it.

@WayneInSF 1936 and 1984 were landslide re-elections for incumbents who carried over 90 percent of the states in the U.S. 1988 was a third straight win for the incumbent White House party. Not the best comparison.

Right. It wasn't a landslide compared to elections like 1936 or 1984. But compared to the both of Bush's anemic wins, and with the electoral map not favorable to Democrats in the deep south and the plains states, this was a very strong win. A 9.5 million vote margin is stupendous. And his 53% of the popular vote was the strongest by any candidate since 1988.

because mate if you havent realised, what america does effects the rest of the world he is "the leader of the free world" not only "...the free america" obama will make decisions for his nation that every other world leader will follow, if we like it or not.

It technically wasnt a landslide, a landslide election by definition is when one candidate gets 375 electoral votes, Obama got 365 so it was close to be a landslide.
