Is that an unmodified CFL ?
If yes, please remove the electronic circuit from it and just use the bulb from it and modify your circuit to use only a 100 nF instead of 1 uF.

Well done,
yes, try to use just a 100 nF cap, but be sure to use at least a 1000 Volts type...
Be cautious with the high voltage DC, it can kill
easily...
