The old boat had propeller trouble. Fixing it looked like it was going to put Joe in danger but my amazing dad came to the rescue and stopped all the women worrying their heads off.

  • Sacrificial Anode. Awwww. Sacrificed on the Alter of Safe Props. Poor Anode.

  • @ShaunberryiPod Shaun it always makes me laugh that we have taken up sacrifice in order to keep on sailing. We pray for good weather too, it can get quite religious this lark. Cheers, Lesley

  • That quite a nautical tale with a pretty happy ending. I also have a dad that has the ability to invent anything for any cause, although I don't think he ever put his head in a rooster pellets bucket! Ha! Good luck with those barnacles, having lived by the seashore, I know they can be difficult.

  • @NaturalTwentyFilms We feel it's a happy ending so far. It'll be two weeks before we can get out to the boat again. Yeah the barnacles love to grow anywhere and they're such stubborn little fellows, scraping off paint or skin if you rub up against them! Cheers, Lesley

  • I could just listen to your accent all day. :)

Never heard of a sacrificial anode! Huh!

  • @Illuminatta Well if we ever meet up, that's what you'd get I can talk for England! Now you know something new about anodes - the beauty of YouTube. Cheers, Lesley

  • @flydarling The beauty of youtube...seriously! I hope I get to England someday and meet all my youtube friends!

  • @Ranblv Glad we made you smile Ran! I come from a make do and mend family rather than buy a solution. Cheers, Lesley

  • @bugsinrug Yeah I love my dad and I am so proud he's such a role model to my kids. We have killed another camera Chris so it'll be a while before a sailing vid (cameras hate saltwater spray - who knew?). I have some footage just have to get it into something I can edit. Cheers, Lesley

  • @billpg Absolutely! My dad can make anything and Joe's pretty good at that too. I'm not so bad as long as it doesn't have to last too long! Cheers, Lesley
