Ah, the third part of Ideals for Earnest Youth. This was, without a doubt, the biggest and most difficult part of the musical to put together, between having the most vocals (solos and ensemble yelling/singing) to put together, combining the most instruments (two acoustic guitar parts, one electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums) not to mention the biggest group shots in the musical (around 14-16 people at max, I believe) a shot taken from a rising cherry picker, using a wheelchair as a crude dolly, and best of all, running three camcorders simultaneously, one stationary, one handheld, and one three stories up in a nearby building for cover/wide shots. Filmed over a total of three days, this is also the part of the musical I'm most proud of, and I think the rest of the cast/crew would agree as well. The president of Hesston College even makes a quick appearance-as Susan's dad. (Thanks, Howard!) The only big thing that I'm really not very impressed by is the disparity between the quality of the stationary Panasonic camcorder, and the two Canons that were used as well. Needless to say, the Panny blows the other two away in color and clarity, which takes a bit away from the video itself. But, you work with what you have.
Lastly, credit must be given to Lisa Miskovsky (and Benny Benassi) for the ending credits song, which was chosen because Perry (the naked guy) was actually dancing to it on the footage interspersed between the credits. That, and the song seemed to fit well with the upbeat ending of the film. The song is 'Still Alive-Benny Benassi Mix,' which I found on a CD that was included in my PC edition of Mirrors Edge. Whatever.
that was epic.
