In my pc the froblins looks choopy, really bad performance. What could be?. Amd phenom 9650x4, ati 4850 1g, 8gs ram & windows 7.

Well there is no real reason other than marketing to keep DX10 Vista and 7 only, but no one will ever bother porting support for the API. Not with the success of windows 7.

DX10 to XP is hardly the finished article and there seems to be some debate as to whether it isn't just a workaround (a bit like where you fool a 32 bit operating system into 'seeing' more than 3 gigs or RAM)

uuuh Dx10 is already ported to xp by some script kiddies as you guys call them :)
Do a quick google search before you say no way it cant be done.
I run crysis GTA etc in dx10 mode on xp.
