@TKcmcbTD ok I mean it cool, a little unsettling for someone who has not had a lot of exposure to this kind of expression but yeah I want to check this out as soon as I can

@pturner561 Yes. Only perverts and truly open-minded people can enjoy this film, which isn't a bad thing. Not at all. I recommend it.

@miwoleit yes this music is so deep so intense , he wanted to use lyrics at first and asked a folk singer from amami shima ikue asazaki to sing obukuri but then he opted for miki who is just as good. this movie is really what it is called in japanese. ai no korida. korida is actually written in the syllabic way so it can be translated by the spanish bull corrida or the english corridor. so it is both the corridor and the corrida of love. i love this tittle. and the antimilitairst concept too

@acb723 yes i defenitely agree with you, this and the pillow book are two masterpieces of japanese cinema. and also oharu, tale of the moon after the rain, rashomon. but defeniteli nagissa, and ozu are by far the best ,

@lazyfreedom98 you're absolutely right
This movie is one of a kind and maybe still the greatest erotic film ever made. But what lifts it on an even higher level is the incredible music by Minoru Miki. I've rarely heard such a trancendental piece of music as the main koto theme in this movie. It brings the atmosphere of a total obsession so close it's almost frightening.

I love this movie but it is definitively not for everyone. I thought the movie was quite sad though especially the ending. "I want you to choke me but I don't want you to stop because the pain is too much," is what he said at the ending. I think his depression and obsession got the best of him. The movie is a masterpiece. Artistic and poetic in so many ways...
