Child Welfare worker in Windsor Ontario Children's Aid Society is stabbed

On March 18th, 2010 a Child Welfare worker from Windsor Ontario was stabbed outside of her office. This news clip demonstrates that violence against child welfare workers is nothing new at the Windsor office and ask the questions as to why more is done to protect these workers. In a surprise twist it was a man who once received services as a youth, and is now an adult, who intervened and held the suspect till police arrived.

Gee, for a non-profit organization sure has a very nice building to work in.I wonder where the money came from to get such a nice place to work at. Can we say stealing people's kids sure pays off.

CAS was very different 20 years ago than it is today. Did the reporters ever ask WHY there have been so many attacks on the Windsor CAS? What is it that fuels this rage? I'd like to know why this man attacked the CAS worker and why did a child (who is being rescued from an abusive situation) steering the car off the road? The journalism in this story is very weak.

CAS IN WINDSOR IS FUCKED UP AND THEY NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY THEY HANDLE THINGS. TO THEM THE BEST THING IS TO TAKE OUT THE KID AND GO FROM THERE, 3 OF MY FRIENDS HAVE TO GET THEIR KIDS HELP NOW BECASUE OF HOW MUCH THEY WENT THROUGH CAUSE OF CAS. WE NEED A CAS BUT THEY SHOULD BE HELPING THE FAMILES , NOT DESTORYING THEM.

EVEN THOUGH CAS IS SUPPOSED TO THEIR FOR FAMILIES AND KIDS, IN WINDSOR CAS IS ON A POWER TRIP AND TAKE KIDS FOR NO REASON. IT HAS HAPPENED TOO MANY TIMES FOR ME TO COUNT TO PPL I KNOW. EVERY TIME THEY TAKE A KID AWAY THEY GET A BONUS, NO INSTEAD OF WORKING WITH FAMILIES AND HELPING THEM, CAS TAKES AWAY UR KIDS AND PUTS THEM IN FOSTER CARE. MY NEFEW WAS TOUCHED, BEATING AND ALMOST SUFFERCATED IN CARE. AFTER GIVING HIM BL TO HIS MOM CAS SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT NOW.

They've taken children from mothers at birth, they've abducted kids and given them to abusive alcoholic fathers, they've taken kids because someone called in a complaint; sometimes complaint isn't verified. I can bet 90% of these incidents are from unregistered workers. Most of the registered workers do work with the family to get them services and other help; why because they're held accountable, the unregistered workers are not.

When parents catch on to the lies and deceit of cas ,the people covering up for these lawbreakers and violaters of children's rights bend over backwords to paint the parents as unstable and we are trying to save the kids from them and we get so abused. wah wah wah Indeed, a real journalist, say Diane Sawyer, would ask why do people hate the cas so much.

first off the CAS do go in and take kids for no reason.i should know they took my son at birth.they never had any reason's to take my son.all they do is lie.they do not help families if anything they put families in pain.they are a bunch of KIDNAPPERS.they snatch kids to make money.i moved back to montreal and they are still giving me a hard time.everyone needs to see what they do is wrong.if only everyone knew my whole story.

most of you don't know that CAS doesn't just go in and take kids for NO REASON we forget that there are tons of unfit parents who expose their children to abuse, drug addiction, and many other things, they work more with families to keep them in their homes because they know foster homes aren't always great, stop putting blame on CAS and start looking at what some of these parents are actually doing, oh and by the way a persons life was almost taken should it matter that they worked at CAS?
