Dante Inferno II-IV (Dance Word Music)

Evocazioni dantesche: Beatrice / Christ descending into Hell. An unusual lecture-performance which encourages all contemporary artistic disciplines to interact freely with the richness of the Divine Comedy, helping participants and audience alike approach through art the mystery of life. Every artistic component is totally original.
These events (which have the sponsored support of the region of Tuscany ,the Società Dantesca Italiana in Florence, the Centro Dantesco of Ravenna and the Società Dante Alighieri in Rome, for the year 2009) consist of lectures in Italian and in English on different cantos of the Divine Comedy, followed by dramatized readings from a modern prose version of the Poem (Actors of Compagnia Progetto Idra), accompanied by original electronic musics (Sensory Gate), mimic dances (Axe Ballet) and psychosuggestive digital scenographies (Arianna Bechini).
The author of the modern text is the Italian poet and Dante scholar Marino Alberto Balducci.
The first volume: Inferno. Scandaloso mistero, with 164 illustrations by the Tuscan artist Marco Rindori, has been presented in May 2008, through a performance of Ugo Pagliai in Montecatini Terme (Pistoia), during a concert of Maggio Fiorentino Formazione.
Students, intellectuals and common people emotionally participate in this unique cultural and artistic program.
