Mountain Dew - Glow in the Dark: FAIL

Okay, I saw the video that shows how to make glow in the dark Mountain Dew. I figured I'd try to do it. I followed the directions:

1/4th inch MD left in the bottle.

Small amount of baking soda.

3 capfuls of hydrogen peroxide (I even had the same brand).

Mixed it all together, shook it up. End result: nothing. At least I still had most of the Mountain Dew.

you didn't leave 1/4 of the mountain dew in the bottle. you basically poured all of it out so therefore it couldn't react to produce the glow.

It says 'Leave about 1/4 " Dew,' which means 1/4th of an inch. I measured before I took the video.

Just a trick usng the liquid from an unused glow stick, which contains the luminol required for the glow when mixed with the hydrogen peroxide.
