How to power a lamp from a phone jack.
This is cool for a few reasons,
1. If the power goes out the lamp will still work
2. Most people have never seen this done.
3. You save like 3cents a year on power! :)
4. And well its just cool!

If you want a step by step just tell me and I will tell you, (if you dont get whats going on in the video)

I will tell you what is used now and some hints.

LED lights (1$ at just about any dollar store just pick up a cheap flash light)
Old lamp (bulb went out)
Phone cable (yes its powered by the phone cable also a dollar at a dollar store)

HINTS..
Tie a knot in the cord in the base of the lamp as I did, So if any thing pulls on it it will not pull out your wires..

Im about sure it is DC power and it does not matter how you wire it, (red or green can be on ether side)

  • Thanks! Next I was wanting to make an alarm clock run the same way well charging a battery or two to keep on when not plugged in. Any ideas?

  • That is about it. You can put it in about what ever you want. I got the LED lights from a flash light from the dollar store. Thats whats so great about this on. It does not take much to do.

  • Meth is bad. If you stopped spending your money on drugs, you could afford to pay your light bill.

#1 - if you draw too much amp , you gonna have problem with your phone line and/or with the phone company .

#2 - i need to know how much voltage output your line is . and how much voltage your alarm clock and battery charger take .

#3 - i also need to know if the current on your line is AC or DC .

    PM me .

  • So can you still use your house phone while the led lamp is plugged in?

  • hello,

there is something extra attached on circuit plate like resistors etc. thats what I was talking about it.
