Land mines are so awful. There are companies that make them to look like children's toys. Mines just sit there waiting to kill long after the war is over. so many have been planted that nobody knows where they are. Mines are one of the worst inventions of man.

I'm amazed that the spinning bar is not damaged by the explosions. Particularly with EFP mines I would expect it to take quite a beating - maybe get bent out of shape, have holes put in it, have chains break off or whatever. They must build them to be very tough!

the british had these on tanks in ww2 the tank was called a flail tank done a good job then in the normandy landings

they were called crab tanks, flails on Sherman tanks.i have had the pleasure of meeting a Normandy veteran who drove one. such interesting stories. the first flail tank was actually used in north Africa and not fixed on a Sherman. the first one was invented by a south African. many thanks.
