"FIRST LOOK" by Jimmy Buffett has been in my head forever. It represents the experience Sarah and I had while living in ST. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Some of the images are not the best photos because I had a cheap camera when I first got there, but I had to include them to complete the story. Each one has relevence and a special place in my heart. I had made Sarah a dress for Valentine's Day two months before we arrived. Ironically, it turned out to be the exact uniform for Sarah's first grade experience at Lutheran Parish School. I knew we were suppose to be there at that very moment. We were there after Hurricane Hugo had devastated the island for recovery efforts. This experience remains one of mine and Sarah's favorite moments in time and a major turning point of our concepts and perceptions of life. Something I wanted to capture and be able share just a little of the joy with friends and family. I will never forget when we were leaving..Sarah looked up at me and said, "mama, I don't think I am through with these islands. Thank you to Beto, my friend, who I will never forget for helping make it through this amazing journey of expression. I have aLoT to learn. There are a lot of things that have meaning in this video: the aromas, the smiles on Sarah's little multicultural friends at her new school..It was a beautiful sight to behold..the whole adventure..thanks for watching.."First Look" also represents the way I felt when Sarah was first born..and, watching her enjoy life. The parade was six hours long. They were celebrating life and recovery from Hurricane Hugo. It was amazing. The photo of Sarah who represents my little samba queen by the sign on Mountain Top..and, the next samba queen was a lady in the carnival parade, the next samba queen is me dancing with the samba king, LOL..and yes, I went there in my homemade bathing suit from an old hippy skirt from the 70's LOL.no comments please. Remember, this was twenty years ago. Wow.

Floridays is the 16th album by American popular music singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. It was released in June 1986 as MCA 5730 and was produced by Coral Reefer Band member Michael Utley. The title of the album is taken from the 1941 poetry collection of the same name by Don Blanding. The album marks the end of Buffett's shift toward a more country sound that characterized his previous two releases and a return to a sound closer to that of his late 1970s and early 1980s output. The album features a wider variety of musical instruments than was typical for Buffett's previous works, notably several songs with strings and horns. His daughter Savannah Jane Buffett is credited for playing mini-conga on the album.
