June 21 2006 reception of 91.8 mhz Irulegiko Irratia, an Euskara language station from St. Jean Pied de Port in the (French) Basque Country.

Really cool to hear one of Europes oldest most exotic sounding languages.

Great signal for a low power station received via E skip.

Sporadic E is a process where clouds of ionised gas form in the atmospheres E layer especially between late April and late August. These clouds reflect VHF signals back to earth where they would otherwise continue on into outer space.

Typical distances received are from about 700 - 1400 miles.

Larger distances are possible but quite rare.
