This is not an entirely apt comparison - Evita was a fiercely intelligent woman who fought for the rights of women in Argentine society. Palin is... well, not; in fact she's viciously anti-intellectual. (By the way, it's "Lupone.")

I'm mildly insulted at the comparison between Evita (who rose to power through her strong beliefs, intelligence, and desire to better the lives of the people), and Palin, who rose to power accidentally after she was chosen to manipulate the female vote, and who continues to ride the ignorance of Americans and remains in power despite the fact that she knows actually nothing about government (or much else, it would appear). It's kind of like comparing Ellen Degenres to Lindsay Lohan.

Evita really wasn't the power who got Peron elected, the unions were. it's just a myth spread by ALW's EVITA, Sure Evita was infuential before Peron's election but she hade nothing to do with his election

no, Eva Peron was the reason her husband got elected and her death was the reason he was removed from power. no one mobilised the compañeros like she did. hillary clinton couldn't get a crowd of a million people together in one spot unless she paid them, Eva Peron was and still is loved by millions. how many people will think to champion the cause to make clinton a saint when she dies?
