ClearedJobs.Net's Best Recruiter Program honors the companies providing the best job seeker experience at each Cleared Job Fair.

We are here at the ClearedJobs.Net Cleared Jobs Fair where all of the job seekers have an opportunity to vote for the Best Recruiter. Three years ago we started the Best Recruiter campaign, because we know that job fairs are not fun for job seekers or for recruiters. But, they are a good place for job seekers to get to meet recruiters. We have found that many of the recruiters go above and beyond the call of duty to be able to make sure that each one of the job seekers that come to their booth really understand what that company is all about.

So, we started having the job seekers vote for the recruiters that provided the best overall recruiting experience. Each year, we have between 20 and 30 different companies who have won the coveted title of the Best Recruiter and we are very excited about how this campaign has really taken off. We went back and we asked some of the recruiters what makes you a Best Recruiter at a job fair? Some of the things that they came back with were: we really love our job, we really like the company that we work for, we really want to share the message that our company is interested in talking to job seekers no matter their skill level, no matter their security clearance level. We want to see if there is a good fit, rather than telling a job seeker who has driven all the way to a job fair and wants to have a conversation, these recruiters didn't tell them, just go to our website or just fill out an application; they actually did have a full long conversation with them. Many of the recruiters pointed out that they didn't sit behind their table. They actually got out from behind their table and they stood in front and greeted each one of the job seekers and this makes it, you know, very interesting and very successful for many of the companies.

We actually had a company that when we started this program they won Best Recruiter every single event and then they changed their recruiting team and the recruitment team just decided that they wanted to sit at their desk, sit behind the sign that says we are only going to talk to certain candidates, and they stopped winning Best Recruiter. I went back to them and I said, do you realize that this is about your word of mouth reputation, this is about your employment brand, this is how you attract people to come to work for your company, and you might enjoy it. The recruiters changed how they approached the entire event. They put down their sign, they came out from behind their table, they actually had a lot of fun and they say they met so many more candidates than they would have if they had done their recruiting the old way. Now, this might not work for everyone. You might have different guidelines that you have to follow, but realize that being a Best Recruiter really means that you love your job and you really want to get out there and talk to the job seekers who will be a best fit for your company and this will pay many dividends for you in the future. Thank you.

At the end of the year we thank the Best Recruiters at our annual celebration breakfast.
