Can created the sound, and the Talking Heads made the money. See how it works, kids?

I' d say Can influences are distinctively audible on the Talking Heads LPs "More Songs About Buildings And Food" (1978) and "Fear Of Music" (1979), their best in my opinion - but you' re definitely right that the Talking Heads had quite some various influences altogether.

@Daycron66 If we're gonna blame people for ripping off other artists and making money, I sorta feel like the Talking Heads aren't quite the band to target. I love both Can and Talking Heads, but to be fair, the Heads took their shit from Kuti and Ade and P-Funk more than from Can (though I don't doubt that Can could be an influence). Did they make money off of it? Sure; a hell of a lot more than Can. But it was still art, not exploitation. Worse rip offs have occurred in popular music history.

@Daycron66 not really?

I remember being gutted when this came out thinking Can had sold out but in retrospect it's cool. Czukay looks positively menacing.

This is totally disco. Whether you like it or not it is great that this was salvaged from the deteriorating video tape (or whatnot) onto youtube.

Yeah, it's hardly my favorite era of CAN but I figured it should get out there for those of you who "want more" ; )
