Have you ever heard reverb on a Korg DS-10? Well, technically, its not really reverb, but the delay, that produces a similar effect to reverb. I used this to create strings like sound. My initial goal was to create an Ambient track. I even set the BPM to 10 and it worked quite well. Too bad that I got all these faster melodies in my head that I couldn't write down due to the speed. So I decided to set the speed higher and clear the patterns. I ended up with 45 BPM. I'm very proud on the sounds that I made.

I've got a new camera, and that allowed me to get a better quality video than my previous video's. In addition, I've recorded the video also through my line-in. After that, I edited the video and replaced the audio with the line-in recording. This produces a much better sound here on youtube. Its nearly the quality that you get when you download the mp3 version, except ofcource that the mp3 version is just the song, not all the edits afterwards, which you'll get here on youtube. :)

  • @LPChip no i mean how do you convert your file into MP3 ?

    sorry for my bad english

  • @kerenbgtgue1 You can't really convert your savefile into MP3. You need to record it to MP3. Hook your DS headphones up to your computer line-in port using a minimale-jack to minimale-jack audiocable. Then at your computer use an audio recording program to record anything that is played on your nintendo DS. Play the song while recording, and once you have the recording made, save it as mp3. (or save as wave, and then convert the wave to mp3)

  • @kerenbgtgue1 check out this video. It tells you exactly how to do it. youtube.com/watch?v=f7Q1rFUhu_U

  • MP3 file ? how ?

  • @kerenbgtgue1 Click on more information, here on youtube, and at the bottom there's a link to the mp3 file. Right click, save-as if normal clicking doesn't give you a download option.

  • Thats amazing, very atmospheric, wish i could do that wit my ds.

  • @Absintize You need to apply a Synth patch for that. (see 7:30 in this video)

This allows you to change a knob's setting while the song plays. At the top left, there's a mode to sync it to BPM. If you sync to BPM, this will reset on each pattern change. If you don't sync on BPM, it will flow through the whole song (like I did with my wind in Within a Deep Forest)

If that doesn't help you enough, please refer to the manual that came with the DS-10.

  • @Absintize No, you don't record the effect. An LFO basically makes a knob go up and down all the time, varied in speed, direction and width. Would you record, you would be able to set exactly what position the knob would be in. This is of course possible using the Kaoss settings, but then its fixed and exactly the same every pattern. By using a patchcable its dynamic over the course of many patterns. Just play with it, and it will make sense immediately. Duplicate what I did in this song.

  • @LPChip

    I understand what you say.

One last question, only in order to clarify: in this way you mention, I can "record" the effect? I mean, I want to automatize the whole thing, in order not to have to do it "live", but to have the effect goin' in the song.

However, thank you for the reply :)!!
