Barth Gimble is the greatest late night talk show host ever! His ratings towered above anyone else this side of Johnny Carson. The guests on America 2Night, like in this episode, were astounding. He should have been hired for The Tonight Show instead of Jay or Conan or Larry.

Classic stuff. Absolutely one of the funniest shows ever on television. One of the first productions made for syndication Does anybody remember another syndicated show that ran in 1977 called "All That Glitters" ? It was a soap opera comedy about a reversed world where the woman controlled everything and the men were treated as sex objects. Gary Sandy from WKRP was one of the characters.

@sillybearwagon The show did the first 3 month season as Fernwood 2Nite; America 2Nite was the second season. Biggest reason it didn't last was the writers and performers burned out putting out 5 shows like this a week.

Several years ago I saw a number of episodes of America 2 Night on the cable channel "TV Land". And I have to say it was one of the funniest tv shows I have ever seen. Why it only lasted three months back in 1978 beats me;. Sigh.
