It's all about distance and respect in these matches. Sure enough Ryu can get up close and own much ass, but doing so is reckless and leaves you open to big punishment. All of this is done out of respect for the opponent and not going balls out aggressive; there's money on the line after all.

lmao at 8:13 u can sense the tension of one of the commentators who bet for mago to win. 8:20 he start to sense the turnaround. 8:39 starts to worry more. 8:48 lmao hard as he goes into cheerleader mode to hype up mago to get the win n of course win the bet for him. 10:19 he gains alittle hope. 11:11 then daigo gives a convincing blow that he(daigo) has won the tournament n u hear the battle cry "OH NO" n yet the white flag is out.
